Bed bug dogs have the ability to detect adult bed bugs, eggs and nymphs quicker than a pest control technician and have a proven accuracy rate of 97% or better

After many years of dormancy, bed bugs are back and biting with a vengeance.  The war against bed bugs can be a difficult one to win.  Their small size and ability to travel from place to place on people, clothing and luggage put them at a real great advantage.  The best strategy in the fight against bed bugs is early detection.  Adult bed bugs are relatively easy to see if in a visible location, but their nymphs and eggs are nearly impossible to see.  The most experienced pest control specialist may not be able to detect a new infestation because of potential hidden and inaccessible locations.  The latest weapon in the fight against bed bugs is canine scent detection units.  With somewhere between 20 to 40 times the nasal receptors as humans, bed bug dogs have the unique ability to sniff out the earliest of infestations in any business or home.

For years dogs have proven themselves as loyal, hard workers.  They have been employed by law enforcement and military agencies around the world for the detection of bombs, drugs and people.  Canine bed bug inspection teams use the same technology as police and military dogs only they seek out these elusive bugs.  If you are still not convinced that dogs can find bugs, here’s the proof:

  • Traditional pest inspections typically last 20 minutes to 1hour, while canine bed bug inspections typically last between 2-15 minutes

  • Traditional pest inspections are limited to visible areas only, while canine bed bug inspections can locate infestations inside upholstered furniture, cluttered areas, in mattress seams, under carpets and behind baseboards

  • Traditional pest inspections cause a significant degree of disruption to the home or business with the unmaking of beds and the moving of clutter and furniture, while canine bed bug inspections cause no disruption to the home or business owner

  • Traditional pest inspections have a 40-60% accuracy rate in detecting only adult bed bugs, while canine bed bug inspections have a 97% accuracy rate or better in detecting adult bed bugs, eggs and nymphs

A “canine detective” unit is clearly the fastest, most convenient way to sniff out early bed bug infestations.  This early detection allows you to take immediate action in the elimination of early bed bug infestations before they become a major infestation throughout your whole property.  In the battle against bed bugs, the nose knows!
